Lately

Since my last post we've been a busy little family! We went to Lexington, KY to visit with my sister's family, the McKenzie's, and my mom for Thanksgiving. We had a great time spending time with them, which we don't get to do NEARY enough. We also got to find out we are having a sweet baby girl (yay!) and spent a few dollars (or a lot) getting a jump start on Elizabeth's closet. Since then we've just been getting ready for the holidays and trying to stay warm here in south Mississippi.

"Driving" with Daddy, one of Matthew's favorite things to do
Ha-ya! Straight to the throat! This wasn't really as bad as it looks...
Matthew is starting to love hats!
A look that says, "I'm about to climb those stairs!"
Gavin and Matthew are serious pals!
"You climb in it, and I'll climb on top!"
Gavin tested out the chocolate mousse Connor and Aunt Shana made.

Da-da

Sometimes it would appear that Matthew is a Mama's boy. If he's upset, he wants Mama. When he's going to sleep, he wants Mama. I've always told Ross that one of these days, that will all change and Matt will want to go fishing with Daddy, throw the football with Daddy, go driving with Daddy.
That has all been changing recently. Now, when Daddy gets home from work, Matthew picks up the nearest sport equipment, whether it be a football or his little golf club, and runs, grinning big, to his daddy to play. He also loves to put Daddy's hat on backwards.
Today he had a little meltdown at "school" and his teacher said that he starting crying "Dada! Dada! Dada!" over and over.
That warmed Ross's heart a little =)

Cheerios

Note to self: never leave Matthew unattended while a box of Cheerios is within reach.

Finally updating!

It's been a while since I've updated the blog--I have been SO sick with this pregnancy and haven't felt up to much until recently. This time around couldn't be more different than my pregnancy with Matthew--he was super easy in comparison! I have been so nauseous and tired, and to top it off, I got mono and strep at around 7 or 8 weeks, so the nauseousness and tiredness were doubled, and I had migraines every day for about 3 weeks. MISERY! I have turned the corner now that I am 13 weeks pregnant and I am feeling SO much better. And Ross has been asking, "When are you going to update the blog?" So here goes!

Last weekend Buzzy and Mary came into town, and we went to Mitchell Farms Pumpkin Patch. The boys golfed a few times, and Mary and I shopped a little. All-in-all it was a really nice weekend of visiting. Here are some pics from our weekend:

climbing on the wooden tractor at Mitchell Farms....ANYthing with a steering wheel is great fun!
 Driving with Daddy!
Mitchell Farms was SO much more fun than last year...Matthew could actually enjoy it!
 Beep! Beep!
Let's see how tall we are this year!
Matthew really enjoyed the tire swing. Here he is with Papa and Grandma!
Not really sure about this thing, but I'll give it a go!
 I like it, I think?

 Ok, this is FUN!

In the petting zoo at Mitchell Farms. Matthew loved looking (from a safe distance) at the animals in the barn.

Playing on the haystack with Papa.
Driving the play tractor near the sandhill.
This was pretty cool: this was a "corn pool" for kids to play in. Matthew was unsure about this at first, but then he liked it.

 Sliding down the tube slide.

Matthew was helping his daddy pick out and carry (well, maybe not that last part) our pumpkins.
Matthew picked out a nice white pumpkin.
 good one, Daddy!
We had a green visitor in our backyard and snapped a few nice pictures before he decided to LUNGE at us.

Ahh, the life!

Kids Day at Belk

On Saturday we went to the mall for a little kid time at Belk. They had cookies and lemonade, story time, the Chik-fil-A cow was on hand to give out prizes, face painting, and coloring. Matthew enjoyed the cookies, the coloring, music, and story time. He had a really good time, especially when the music started.  Mommy had a good time shoe shopping.
Here are a couple of pics from our afternoon.

BIRTHDAY!!

Our little baby turned 1 this week, and boy was it a birthday week! First we celebrated with the Dillon side of the family after we had the Teltschik family reunion in Kerrville (and it was a family reunion done up right!---300+ people from mostly Texas and Germany, where the family originated). We went to Corpus Christi after the reunion and celebrated birthday there with Ross's family, then we had a little celebration at Matthew's daycare (and since Mommy is off right now, got to go and take pics), and then on Saturday we celebrated with Grandma BB and cousins Connor and Madison and Mommy and Daddy.  SOOOO fun and this little guy made out pretty darn good from all of his family and got enough clothes, toys and books to last until Christmas for sure. Here are some great pics from all the birthday...
