Beautiful Sunday

Today was such a gorgeous day! We took advantage of the 65+ degrees and spent some time outdoors. Also, Grandma BB came to town this weekend, so we got to hang out with her and enjoy the great weather. Sasha and Matthew are really starting to interact with one another, so caught a few pics of puppy love =)
 Kisses!

CRAWLING!!!!

Matthew is 7 1/2 months old and is CRAWLING! It started out with him maneuvering around in a circle using his hands and scooting his hiney into propelling himself forward as far as he could to reach something. Recently he has been stretching his legs straight and getting on all fours (his feet and hands), but then he saw Daddy's work name tag last night and decided that it was worth a little more work and VOILA! Crawling! I'm so excited and proud of him! Now to child proof the house...

7 1/2 Months and SO fun!

Here are some really great pictures of Matthew that I've taken recently and I thought I'd share. He is doing so many new things on a daily basis that I feel like I need to have the camera strapped to me at all times!

Matthew really liked the kid yogurt mommy accidentally bought. After a night of NOT sleeping, we found something more appropriate!
Matthew loves Sasha! (notice the HUGE bruise on his forehead from tipping over onto the tile!)
He looks so cute in a ball cap! I foresee a large collection in our future...
 Daddy's best friend =)
Rockin' the faux hawke in the bath and loving it! We have removed the baby tub though. I can't believe Matthew is in the big tub now!
 I like books!

I LOVE to bounce! Not sure if you can tell, but he is TOTALLY mid-air here. =)

Having much more fun with this thing turned backwards!

Happy kid...

Here are a couple of videos I've taken that I really like. The first one is just a short clip of a very happy boy who is learning how to rock on his hands and knees and another one where he is scooting around on the wood floors.

Why crawl when I can slide?

Veggie Tales

Matthew got his first taste of Veggie Tales today (why did I wait so long?!?), and it was pretty hilarious. He danced for the first time, which you can see in this video, along with his newly acquired skill of getting on his hands and feet and stretching out his legs. He'll be crawling soon! Anyway, I could hardly keep from laughing while I was shooting this. SO cute!

Raspberries

Matthew started blowing raspberries for the first time, and it is SO cute! I actually caught it on video, and thought I'd share!

Poor baby

My poor baby has had a rough couple of days, and I earned "Worst Mother of the Day" on Friday.
I'm ashamed to admit this, but here goes (and if CPS comes knocking on my door, I'll know why).
On Friday morning, I was getting Matthew ready for school, and (almost) went about our normal routine. I put him on the changing pad on his dresser. I leaned over to dig some clothes out of the dresser but didn't see anything I wanted to put him in. I turned my back for just a second, which I never do, and WHAM! He rolled right off of it.
Bad, huh? Gets worse.
I had left the very bottom drawer open and there aren't many clothes in it (I had just purged all of the too-small clothing into storage), so it was nearly empty. So, there was my baby, sprawled on the drawer. His back hit the side wall of the drawer, and I thought for sure he broke his back or his neck. I scooped him up and gently laid him on the ground in case he really was injured. He cried and was moving around fine, so I picked him up and he stopped crying. He whimpered for maybe half a minute and he was fine. He was moving his arms and legs and head, and it was as if it never happened. That's when I lost it. I could not BELIEVE I let that happen. That was the scariest moment in my short experience as a mother, and I can assure you it will NEVER happen again after that experience.
Pale in comparison, he went on to daycare that day (after much debate with myself over whether I should just stay home and watch him like a hawk), and promptly head-butted the floor and earned nice bruise on his forehead that looks like a purple kiss mark and then did it again yesterday. He has two bruises, one on each side of his forehead, kinda like horns.
There's more.
He now has thrush in his mouth, the doctor thinks from binkys or toys, so we've sanitized our entire house and so has the daycare.
Poor kid. I felt SO bad =(
