Big 9 Month Old

I can't believe my child is now as old as long as I was pregnant. His nine months of life sure do seem to have gone by a lot faster than the pregnancy (which was quite enjoyable, but seems longer!). Here's what Matthew has been up to at 9 months:

-Standing up and letting go of whatever he used to get up (toys, mama's or daddy's leg, bathtub, etc)
-sort of starting to walk along the coffee table and side of the tub (the outside while I get ready in the morning)
-has TWO teeth now (and is eating table food)
-babbling and laughing a LOT (ba ba ba, ma ma ma, da da da or just loudly saying "AGH!")
-banging things together like wooden spoons or toys (but not quite clapping)
-drinking from a cup (especially in the bathtub!) without a lid
-sleeps ALL night every night!!! (except he really likes to wake up between 5:00 and 5:30)
-Gets excited when I pull him out of his carseat at daycare and go inside (sigh of relief)
-LOVES his Mama and Daddy; and Mama and Daddy really love you, too, Louis Matthew!


More than anything, Matthew is quite obviously a very laid back, happy kid who smiles and laughs all of the time. I could not ask for more. I have always hoped for him to be a happy individual, and he seems to be so naturally.

Trip to LEX and 9 months old!

So last week was spring break, and since I didn't get to end up going to Dallas for Christi's baby shower, I ended up deciding (SUPER last minute) to drive up to Lexington, KY to my sister's. Ross had to work, so it was road-tripping time for Matthew and me. It's a little hard to make an 11 hour trip with a 9 month old BIG BOY! We did alright, though. Here are some pics from our trip. I'm sad that I didn't get very many pics of the adults I got to hang out with:

Bath Water

While I was bathing Matthew last weekend, his 4 year-old cousin Lauren came in and hung out with us. Matthew started to drink the bath water with a little cup that was in the tub and our conversation was as follows: 

Me: "Eeew, Matthew don't drink the bathwater!"

Lauren: "It's okay, I do it all the time." 

Me: "So it's okay?" 

Lauren: "Yes." 

Beautiful Sunday

Today was such a gorgeous day! We took advantage of the 65+ degrees and spent some time outdoors. Also, Grandma BB came to town this weekend, so we got to hang out with her and enjoy the great weather. Sasha and Matthew are really starting to interact with one another, so caught a few pics of puppy love =)

CRAWLING!!!!

Matthew is 7 1/2 months old and is CRAWLING! It started out with him maneuvering around in a circle using his hands and scooting his hiney into propelling himself forward as far as he could to reach something. Recently he has been stretching his legs straight and getting on all fours (his feet and hands), but then he saw Daddy's work name tag last night and decided that it was worth a little more work and VOILA! Crawling! I'm so excited and proud of him! Now to child proof the house...

7 1/2 Months and SO fun!

Here are some really great pictures of Matthew that I've taken recently and I thought I'd share. He is doing so many new things on a daily basis that I feel like I need to have the camera strapped to me at all times!

Matthew really liked the kid yogurt mommy accidentally bought. After a night of NOT sleeping, we found something more appropriate!
